Maitake, commonly known as Hen of Woods or Sheepshead, is a choice culinary mushroom. This strain produces fronds of grey-brown with white undersides and fruits in the early fall. While this strain can be used on sterilized sawdust substrate, it is more successful on logs.

Fruiting temperature range:
50-70° F
Indoor incubation temperature:
50-60° F. Spawn run will occur outdoors at temperatures above 50° F.
