With knowledge of your microclimate and other cultivation requirements, you can grow some of best eating mushrooms on the planet. Whether you have a yard with vegetables, a greenhouse, shade or just a few flower pots, you can add active biology to your soils, increasing soil health while learning to become a skilled mushroom cultivator. Learn about growing Wine Caps, Agaricus mushrooms and Blewits within a season while also smothering weeds and creating organic matter. We will make cardboard spawn, learn about the effects of tillage and layering for enhancing soil biology, and learn how to select and grow mushroom species to utilize a full cycle of garden waste. The workshop includes a small bag of Wine Cap sawdust spawn to take home.
Coffee, bakery in the morning, and lunch is included. Registration required by May 11. No refunds for cancellations after May 12. Class limit: 25.
