Field and Forest Products' core focus has been producing high quality spawn and growing premium quality specialty mushrooms organically and economically since 1982. Join us for an afternoon while we share the journey of growing mushrooms outdoors on logs and beds, as well as indoor cultivation methods, all in a small farm environment that can be easily adapted to almost any market farm environment. We will also be sharing the latest information on soil building with Wine Cap mushrooms, high tunnel cultivation with Almond Agaricus and other heat loving fungi, optimal forest management for shiitake log harvest, log inoculation tips and tricks, rotational bed log management for weekly market production, small space indoor fruiting and more. Registrants take home a free spawn sample to help them get growing!
Please arrive promptly - the afternoon will be divided into 45-minute rotating sessions visiting five key farm locations. Children under 18 must pre-register with an adult and remain under adult supervision at all times during the tour.

Sessions:
• Managing forest land for Shiitake log farming
• Managing a Shiitake yard for weekly market production
• Best practices for successful log inoculation
• Setup and management of a small space fruiting room for multiple species production
• Construction of a Wine Cap bed for soil improvement and mushroom production

Pre-registration is required as this event is limited to the first 75 people. Please call 800-792-6220 to register (please, no walk-ins the day of the event).

Funding for this event was made possible by a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant.
