I received my Shiitake Table Top Farm along with a Pioppini kit and set them both up on 1/24/23. I was concerned about the climate as I live in Wyoming and the environment they were in ranged from 50-60 degrees with less light than I thought they would need. At about day 4, the Shiitake mushrooms began to form buttons then progressively develop. On 2/5/23 I decided it was time to harvest, hoping I wasn't too early. The block they grew on was completely filled! I looked at the bottom and there were mushrooms growing there too. I cut all but the smallest Shiitake and the bottom. I turned the block upside down and placed it back in the plastic tent just to see if it would produce any more mushrooms. These had a wonderful taste and texture - I would definitely grow these again! I did get a second, smaller harvest!

Received my kit quickly with great updates. Set up was easy and I was harvesting in 6 days. Added a diffuser nearby to help add some humidity as our air is very dry. Tons of mushrooms! This would make a great gift for the foodie in your life. Can't wait to finish the rest period to grow more!

Excellent Kit

I have purchased a couple Shiitake kits from Field & Forest, and a couple kits from another supplier that were slightly cheaper. I had failures with the other supplier's kits, but Field & Forest kits have consistently given me a nice crop of mushrooms. I don't know what the difference is, but these kits are easy and they work.
