What are Pioppini Ready-to-Fruit Blocks?

Pioppini RTF blocks are made by sterilizing a sawdust-based substrate mixture and then inoculating it with a master culture. These blocks arrive at your door, ready to fruit oyster mushrooms upon opening the block!

  • Average time for oyster mushroom development: 10-21 days
  • Ideal Fruiting Temperature for Pioppini: 65°- 72°

Pioppini Mushroom FAQs:

  • Little mushrooms are starting on the top of my block- should I remove them or take them off? 
    • If your pioppini starts to fruit in transit, we recommend scraping off the pioppini pins before opening. More often than not, the old pins will abort, requiring fresh mushrooms to grow over the old. 
  • There are small patches of raw sawdust on my block- do I need to wait for it to turn white before opening?
    • No, blocks are best opened right away. Due to the heavily supplemented nature of the sawdust mix, mushrooms will start to form before the block is completely white.
